- [Instructor] In the previous video, one of the things that we did was add a vertex ID source to the ID map bake. And so in this video although you may not use the same DCC application as me, it is important to see how the IDs are set up and created so that we can see how we can use them to our advantage in our realistic material creations. So, first of all, let's discuss both the setup of IDs on our mesh and also consider why it is that we may want to create ID masks in the first place. Jumping back into blend them, again this is not program specific information, and this really is just the DCC application that I've chosen to create IDs in, and I know for a fact that multiple applications can do this very same kind of operation. Let's click the texture paint tab and then set our objects interaction mode to vertex paint. Now, here, you can see that I've opted to break out major components of the mesh into specific vertex…
