Using shape nodes

- [Instructor] The Shape node is a versatile tool that can be used in several ways. Ranging from being setup as a mask the use that we will look at in this video to a diffuse overlay to adding normal details and can even work as a data channel to drive other effects such as Blur and Warp nodes. Making sure that we are focused on the 07 Shape pin in our graph then let's click to select the Shape node that has the square in its preview and then press the delete key. Using the spacebar key we can search for the word shape and then add a fresh Shape node to the graph. Looking at the center of our output in the 3D view you can see that we have the words linked-in there and so what we want to do now is create a mask for the overlapping stones so that we have a nice interesting looking surround. Because we have deleted the Shape node that was there we currently have just a solid circle masking the stones whereas what we really want is a strip that masks out the stones in the text area. And…
