Using blend nodes

- [Instructor] The blend node in Substance Designer is so versatile that it can be used in a wide variety of circumstances to accomplish a wide range of effects in Substance Designer. In fact, seeing as all we will be doing here is looking at how the node works, I would suggest that you might want to take a look through the graph here on your own at some point in order to see the various ways in which the blend node has been used. For now, though, let's make sure that we are focused on the 03 pin, after which we can select the already existing blend node and then remove it via the backspace key. Straight away now, we can see that we're getting a very different result. Perhaps the first important piece of information that we need to keep in mind with data in the blend node, is that it will always plug a selected node into the background slot, given that it assumes you will always want to blend something over the top of it.
