- [Narrator] The next question that we need an answer to,…is how we go about bringing our assets…into substance designer in order to begin making…textures and materials for them.…Well, this can actually be done in a couple of ways…with probably the most used option being…to locate the .FBX file exported from our DCZ application…using an operating system explorer window.…In my case, I will use the FBX file found inside…the exercise files folder structure,…which we can left click and drag over to…the explorer panel in the substance designer UI,…hovering over the package name…and then releasing the mouse button.…
Now because we have two separate mesh files…inside a single FBX package, designer will think…that we want to use a UDM approach,…although both mesh files use the zero to one UV Space.…Simply say yes to use the UDMs in this instance…and that is it, really.…We have now linked our mesh to the package…that we are using.…If we expand the resources folder via the dropdown arrow,…you can see that we have access to the FBX file,…
