- [Instructor] A powerful way for us to layer up materials in substance designer would be by making use of the blend node as this will let us either use opacity or masks to create a very specific blend pattern. And the blend node lesson goes, use foreground and background inputs that we can then decide how we want to blend. So let's select the blend node that already exists and then press the backspace key to remove it. Again we do this so that the already dirt nodes don't get accidentally deleted, but are instead just separated from their connections, when we remove a node in this fashion. We can then by using either the library section of the UI, or by clicking the yellow connection line, use the space bar search function to locate, and then add a new blend node into the mix.
