Adding procedural dirt
- [Instructor] There is no doubt that adding dirt and aging effects to an objects texture can go a long way towards selling its realism in many cases. Although we do of course need to be careful when adding these as not every object in a scene needs to look like it has had a 50 year battering. Sometimes then we may need to use this node in what we might call a restrained kind of way. As there are several options to look at, we won't in this instance disconnect the existing dirt node. But, just to cover how it is that we create one, we can either press the space bar key and type in the word dirt. Or, if we come to the library tab, I'm just going to scroll down to the mesh adaptive section we can click on the mask generators option and from here, left click and drag on the dirt generator in order to add it to the graph. Let's delete that though and double click to view our already existing mode and then reset its parameters. Now you may be wondering why we are using mesh adaptive…
