Contrasting colors make it easy for learners to focus and make sense of content on your slides. A dark background should include lighter foreground content, and vice versa. The background you choose should be used across multiple slides for consistency. In this video, you will learn how to change and select a background color while maintaining a consistent look and feel.
- [Instructor] Well so far in this course…we have touched on the proper use of color…in your e-learning projects here in Storyline 2,…but now we're going to dive a little deeper in this chapter,…beginning with the use of background color.…We're going to work with this file, color 04 01.…You'll find it in the chapter four folder…of your exercise files,…and as you look down the left hand side here…at the slide thumbnails, you can see…it looks like some of them have different backgrounds.…Slide one has a very faint grey background.…
When we go to slide two, selecting it here on the left,…you can see there's a tint of purple in there.…It doesn't look bad but the contrast isn't great…with the title.…Now we go to the third one and we see this cool gradient.…It's a cool effect but it's not very effective on our slide.…We don't see good contrast, it makes it difficult to read,…it's distracting, not exactly what we want…when our learners are viewing our content,…and then we go to slide four and you can see…it's just a white background, lots of contrast here.…
