- [Instructor] One of the best ways to get started working with variables is with the text entry field in Storyline 'cause it allows you to perform one of the most asked tasks in Storyline and that is to personalize the course with the learner's name. So you're going to ask the learner to give their name and then you'll collect that from them and then display that throughout the rest of the course. So let's go ahead and just get started here. I'm going to work from this blank slide in a new project. I'm going to really quickly create a little graphic just for a name badge so the rounded rectangle will probably work. It doesn't have to be the world's best looking name badge but just something that adds a little context to it. So a couple basic shapes here should get us started. Now that needs to be changed and maybe turn off the outline. Let's see here. I'm not going to lose a lot of time on this one but just something to make it look a little like a proper name badge.
