- [Instructor] To get the most out of this course, it would be helpful to have some basic understanding of how coding works in Stata. Advanced users of Stata do not point and click their way through data. They use code to accurately manipulate and analyze their data. This is good practice and is why this course places significant emphasis on coding in Stata. However, it is not mandatory to know this. Each session carefully explains the relevant statistical theories and outlines the primary Stata commands that will be used in that session. How 'about statistics? Do you need to know a lot of statistics to follow this advanced course? No, all important statistical concepts are explained in each session. The majority of this course requires little understanding of advanced statistics since I will explain and interpret everything you see. Some basics statistics knowledge will come in handy, but when things become difficult I will try to boil it down to its most simple components. In each session I will demonstrate all relevant code necessary for you to follow along. Additionally, I have included the completed code files in each session for your reference. Some sessions also include additional data training files. You'll need Stata to follow along, which you can find at stata.com if you don't have it.
