[upbeat music] - Let's have a look at the solutions to our data management challenges. The first challenge was to load the auto training data and compute the square root of the variance of weight. So let's go ahead and do that. Let's load the auto data. And let's summarize the variable weight. Okay here we are. The summary of weight doesn't actually give us the variance. All we see is the mean, the standard deviation, the minimum and the maximum. We could use the detailed option of summarize to see the variance, but in this case we're supposed to use one of the return commands to look at all the information that is stored underneath in Stata by the command summarize. So let's do that. Summarize is a descriptive command, and therefore an R class command. So let's type return list to see what Stata stores. Return list.
