Nonparametric analysis
- [Voiceover] In this session, we're going to learn about nonparametric survival analysis. Nonparametric survival analysis lets the data speak for itself. In other words, there are no assumptions about the shape of the underlying data or survivor or hazard function. This kind of analysis is mostly graphical, which is why we'll explore graph based commands in this session. It is important to remember that nonparametric analysis does not control for other covariates. Sample size permitting, we can split our analysis over different categorical variables, but we can't do this for other continuous variables. Here's an example of a survivor function that is often presented in this kind of analysis. The survivor function reports the probability of surviving beyond a certain time point, t.
