- [Instructor] In this session we're going to explore how to interpret and visualize categorical by categorical interactions. For example, we may wish to explore the differential effects between gender and union membership on expected wages. Both gender and union membership are generally measured as binary variables. So we'll need to understand how to identify and interpret such interactions. Generally in my experience, interpreting coefficients from categorical interactions is easier than for continuous interactions. However, if there are too many categories or interactions, then this can also quickly overwhelm the user. Here's the example of a regression on wages that contains a categorical by categorical interaction effect.
