A CMS design process is discussed to illustrate how to handle unique challenges that can occur depending on the selection you make. Tips both specific to hosted CMSs and for design in general are presented. These tips range from picking the right template and optimizing the images you choose, to choosing compelling imagery.

In this course I wanted to explore what the different types of content management systems or CMSs are, hosted versus non, as well as talk about some of the most popular hosted CMS today, pros and cons, as well as what to consider when deciding and ultimately designing for one. I've used a lot of different types of content management systems or CMS over the years, and you'll find that CMS can mean different things to different people.
For this course, we're going to specifically focus on what are called hosted CMS, tools like Squarespace, Webflow, Wix, and more. With that in mind, let's jump in to learning about hosted CMS.
