The chorus effect

(soothing music) - [Voiceover] There's a couple different techniques you can use to make your synthesizer patch sound fatter, or like more things are playing at the same time. For example, I'll change to 2 oscillators mono, play a note. And the detuning between oscillators is what can create that chorusing sound, that more than one voice is singing at the same time. Remember you can right click on an oscillator, drag up and down, to slightly detune it. When they're in tune, it's not as quite an interesting sound as when they're detuned. Well, another approach to that is to use the chorus effect that's built into modular V. And we'll switch to the one oscillator, one filter sound, which since it only has one oscillator, does not have that detuning, so it's very static. However, as we scroll down our user interface, we can enable this device called a chorus effect.
