Controlling the LFO with the mod wheel

(high-pitched musical notes) - [Voiceover] For a change, we're going to continue on with a patch we created in the previous movie. Here, I want to show you how to use something such as the Mod Wheel to make performance gestures for the LFO; being able to manually bring in and out things such as LFO frequency, LFO depth, etc., instead of having to rely on an automatic delay or fade-up to get more articulation into your playing. For example, I could take my Mod Wheel and have it control the frequency of the LFO. (musical note) I'm going to increase the amplitude a little bit here (musical note) I think I'll go to a slower initial LFO frequency. (musical note) Then I'll turn the Mod Wheel all the way up and set the maximum LFO frequency by adjusting the FM depth. (varying musical notes) So, that's one option. Take off this delay for now. (musical note) And again, the FM depth, the frequency modulation depth is what's controlling how much I'm changing that frequency, controlled by the Mod…
