Adding noise
(staccato electronic music) - [Voiceover] So far we've been using pitched oscillators as our main sound source when we've been creating patches. However, you also have noise, unpitched sounds, available to you as an alternate sound source. There's a whole new class of sounds you can create using noise. I'm going to pull up the template for low-pass filter mod. This patches together a couple of oscillators through a filter. You can hear the filter sweeping up and down, revealing and then hiding the harmonics in these oscillators. I'm going to use those later, but for now, I'm going to disconnect them, pull the lfo modulation and put it aside for right now into an input that has its mixer turned down. There's no input coming from that lfo, and instead patch over noise. We have two different types of noise: white noise, and pink noise. The color refers to the harmonic spectre of the noise.
