Explore this classic analog modular synth effect, including the famous Moog 12-stage phase shifter.
(synthesizer notes)…- [Instructor] The last effect we're going to cover…is one that Moog was, and still is, very famous for,…their 12-stage phase shifter,…which creates a really deep swimming sound.…I'm going to use another template patch,…in this case I'm going to go with two oscillators mono.…I'm going to fatten it up a little bit,…I'm going to add a little bit of release,…so the notes ring out,…drop one of the oscillators down an octave.…And maybe even use a square wave because I'm trying…to come up with a nice assortment of harmonics to play with…because the way the phase shifters work…is it takes a copy of the signal,…varies the phase of it,…and then mixes the copy back on top of the original,…and then uses that to cancel out,…or reinforce, the harmonics in the original signal.…
I'm going to scroll down to my effects section again,…and remember where you initially saw delay and chorus.…Well, if you click on the name chorus,…you'll change it to the phase shifter.…Just like the other effects,…you can enable it separately for the two different VCAs,…
