The train beat

- Let's learn some country beats. Now it's important to learn as many styles as you can. It'll just make you a better drummer. So you can apply things that you learn in genres like country to just about any style. So let's get started and learn some country beats. The first country beat we're gonna learn is one that Paul English plays on the classic Willie Nelson's song, On the Road Again, and it goes like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (energetic drum music) So that's called a train beat, and the train beat is just what it sounds like. It's like a train chugging down the track. So this is the basic train beat and it goes like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (energetic drum music) So that's the basic train beat, but a lot of times, drummers will make it a little bit more interesting, and just spice it up a little bit by putting in some extra accents. So this is how it sounds with one group of accents. One, two, one, two, three, four. (energetic drum music) And this is how it sounds with another type of group of accents. One, two, one, two, three, four. (up-tempo drum music)
