Playing in 7/4

- Up until now, we've been playing some common time signatures, of things like 4/4. But you don't have to just play 4/4. We could play all sorts of time signatures. So let's get into it and learn more time signatures. I've tuned my drums down a little bit for this next section to get them back to a kind of a rock tuning. And the next beat that we're gonna play is from a song called Money by Pink Floyd, and it's in 7/4 and it goes like this. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. (slow drum music) So let's break that down. This is in 7/4, so we're gonna play seven notes on the high hat. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. So for now, let's just keep it simple and play the basic beat like this. One, two, three, four, five, six, sev. (slow drum music) So now, let's add in an extra note on the bass drum and we're gonna hit the crash on beats one and seven. And sometimes when I say seven, when I'm counting off, I say sev.
