- The next beat we're gonna play is from a song called "I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)" by Aretha Franklin and this beat is in 3/4. So there's three counts per measure and the quarter note gets the count. So this is how the beat sounds in the song. One, two, three. One, two, three. (drums beat rhythmically) So let's just break this beat down, and remember, we're in 3/4 so three beats per measure, quarter note gets the count and we're just gonna do this little shuffle pattern with the high hat.
