- Sometimes, Latin beats appear in rock settings, so the jam band Phish actually incorporates a Latin-type feel in the song called Fee played by drummer Jon Fishman, and it goes like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) So, let's break it down. The firs thing we're gonna do is play eight notes on the high hat, and we're gonna lift our foot off the high hat on beats two and beat four, so we're gonna play close to two hits, open two hits, and we're gonna repeat that over and over again like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) Next, let's keep that high hat pattern going, and we're gonna start adding in some rim clicks in the typical bossa nova style like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) Next, let's add the bass drums in on beat one of each measure like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) And finally, we'll add the bass drum in on the end of each measure, on the end of beat four on each measure, like this. One, two, one, two…
