Half time

Half time

- Now, in the last beat we learned the difference between regular time and double time, you can go the other direction with this too and go into half time, and half time just makes the beat sound like you're playing it at half the tempo, so here's an example of how Lars Ulrich does it in a Metallica song called Wherever I May Roam, here it goes. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) So, now let's just focus on going from regular time to half time by playing a simple beat like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) Next, we're gonna add in a crash cymbal and a couple other things to make it sound a little bit more like Lars played it on the recording, like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) And finally, we'll add in the rest of the notes, we'll end it with a fill, and we'll play it just like Lars played on the recording Wherever I May Roam. Here it goes. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat)
