Drum fill from "Free Fallin'"

Drum fill from "Free Fallin'"

- The next fill we're gonna learn is one that's used in the song "Free Fallin'," and Phil Jones plays a classic fill that can be applied to many, many more songs than just this one, but it's beautifully demonstrated in this song. So, the way it goes is you hit the snare on beat four, and you hit the high tom on the "and" of beat four and the "a" of beat four. So it's four and-a-one. And the one is on the crash and the bass drum, so that sounds like this: One, two, one, two, three. (drumming) Now, you can put that exact same fill into context of the song. So we're gonna play it a lot like Phil played it on the recording, except we're gonna kinda loop it over and over again. So, starts with the fill, goes into the beat, and then we play the fill, and we just kind of loop that around, over and over again, so it sounds like this: One, two, one, two, three. (drumming) Another drum fill that you're gonna see Phil Jones playing in "Free Fallin'" is between the snare and the rack tom again…
