- So far, we've played jazz beats where we're taking that classic jazz pattern, right? So, it's dong da da dong da da dong da da dong da da, and we're doing that on the high hat, we've done that on the ride, we've done that on a couple different ways on the kit, well this next tune is something that Buddy Rich played on a song called Chelsea Bridge, and he takes that jazz beat and he kinda breaks it up between different parts of the kit, on the high hat, on the rim of the snare, and stepping on the high hat with your foot, so it sounds like this. One, two, one, two, three, four. (drum beat) So, let's break this beat down. We're gonna take the classic jazz pattern, ding da da ding ding da ding, okay?
