Overview of cloud computing
- Cloud computing generally provides shared software, storage, and many other information services to all sorts of IOT applications. It's usually sitting at the top of an IOT system architecture beyond Edge. Many of today's commercial Cloud computing services provide common services for IOT devices and their data. Let's see what the typical functionalities are. We can use Cloud computing services for data storage collected over time from your IOT networks and perform some data analysis, as Cloud computing endpoints usually have better compute power and larger storage than a single IOT device. Another common service is data visualization where the data processed at the Cloud endpoint, can be rendered in any forms for view later. Some services provide web mashups so that you can decide how your data is presented in, for example, a control panel with a switch to turn on or off the air conditioner by your sensor.
