- [Narrator] Let's look at some high level user requirements and how they're linked to the OS characteristics. First, we require efficient management of multiple tasks and the resources. It also relates to the system performance requirements. For safety critical applications such as industrial control systems the task execution needs to meet some strict timing requirements. Second, we may need to support various platforms in terms of software or hardware components. This is important in terms of the capabilities of an IoT device and its system design out of a broad range of hardware and software components on the market. For example you may need to use a custom components or to upgrade your hardware components later on. An OS for IoT should make this happen with good extensibility.
