- If we think of our OS based IOT applications beyond Kernel, every application has several functional components as building blocks, where some common ones can be broken down into the following topics. These components in general, can equip an IOT solution with some unique attributes that can synergistically make our solution solid and innovative. Let's briefly look at them one by one. A key attribute of an IOT application is its sensing and actuation capabilities. Since there are general paradigm of many IOT devices, it includes collecting and utilizing data and IOT application can be considered as data-centric, whereas the data may be referred to as little data or big data from one or more IOT devices. This topic is therefore important to many applications, especially for the IOT solutions that rely on data for value creation.
