- [Instructor] We have seen some basic data communication paradigms on the essential parts of our IoT system. Now, we're going to take a look at data communication paradigms on end services, edge devices, and the cloud services. Considering the possible broad spectrum of technologies for each element, we're only briefly exploring basic models here. Let's first look in end device, one that can form a network in the local network, following a network topology such as a star, extended star, or a mesh. The end devices basically can directly talk to each other or they may also be able to communicate with a local gateway or an edge router or both. If there are two gateways or more, the gateways may directly talk to each other in order to exchange information between the two networks. Or if these two networks are connected to our infrastructure network or backbone network. They both can be connected through edge router or some other network devices.
