- When releasing a product in another country, it's very important to understand what laws you and your product are going to be held to. In the end, the world is large, legislation changes all the time, and I'm not a legal expert. The point at this stage is to gather as much information as you can about how practical it's going to be to localize, and what the major obstacles and limitations are. The first question you should ask applies to almost all developers, and that's: Does the targeted country have any restrictions on data storage? In many countries, there's legislation about your responsibility in obtaining a user's consent to store any of their personal information, what information you can store, and how you can use it.
