- Hey there, Justin Seeley here. Welcome back to Marketing Tips. This week we're gonna be taking a look at the Twitter Ads platform and also the new Analytics tab which you can use to track the Engagement across your Tweets and also track some of your Follower metrics as well. So what you have to do is log into ads.Twitter.com and when you log in to ads.Twitter.com you'll see some tabs up here across the top. And so once you go up here you can find the Analytics tab and you can choose between Tweet activity, Followers, Twitter Cards and Websites. So in this case what I'm gonna do is open up in a new tab the Tweet activity and also the Followers.
And so let's take a look here at the Tweet activity first and foremost. So I can see here that my Tweets have earned 68.6k impressions over the last 28 days. Yours, of course, will vary. You can also track based on the days. How many Impressions you got on your various Tweets across the board so you can just see each one of these how many Impressions you got. You can also see over here to the right it says "So far today your Tweets have earned 1.5k impressions. "This is lower than your 28 day average." Most likely because I haven't been Tweeting a lot today. I've been in the recording booth so I haven't had a chance to actually send out many Tweets today.
You can also see down through here individual Tweets so the Impressions, the Engagements, the Engagement rate right here. So you wanna try to get this of course, as high as possible. So there's lots of different things you can showcase here. You can also see here the Engagement showing over the last 28 days so you can see how often something is Engaged with on your Twitter timeline, you can see how many links people have clicked, you can see how many Re-Tweets you've gotten, how many Favorites and also how many replies that you have as well. You can also see Tweets and replies here. This is gonna show you any Tweets that you've published that actually had replies on them and then if you're using Promoted Tweets you can also track the Promoted Tweets here as well.
I haven't used any Promoted Tweets so none of those are showing up right here. Now, as far as the Followers, when I go over here I can actually see a graph here indicating how my Follower count is doing over time. So I can see here that from 2012 all the way up until now I've seen a significant increase in Twitter Followers, almost 2,000 since 2012. And so that's a pretty good increase I would say. And you can see here the different Interest, the Location information, Gender and many different things about your Followers.
So you can see things like the Interests. Fifty percent of the people who follow me are into Graphics software, Web design, Design, Cameras and camcorders, Business software. The Top interests, Technology, Tech news, Graphics software, etcetera. Most of the things that I'd expect to find in the Followers because that's what I'm into and that's what I Tweet about most often. I can also see a breakdown of where my Followers are located so I can see here that I've got 2500 Followers in the United States and I've also got some in the U.K., some in Canada, some in India, got some in Australia, Mexico, etcetera.
You can go through all of these. You can break down your top cities so most of my Followers come from New York, Lost Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. So some big metropolitan areas. This is all useful information that you can start collecting data on so that you can figure out exactly what you should be Tweeting about, when you should be Tweeting, who you should be targeting, and how you should be targeting them. This is all inside of the ads.Twitter.com platform so I highly recommend that you check it out. Again, it's the Analytics tool where you can view things like your Tweet activity and your Follower growth over time and that way it's gonna help you shape and target the messages that you send on Twitter.
