- [Instructor] There are times when the Snapseed application in conjunction with a picture I take with my iPhone is about scouting and about deciding whether or not I wanna get my camera. And sometimes it's about making the best image that I possibly can. Whether that's just a have for myself share or maybe even post or print. And this is that type of image. Now this was taken with my iPhone. I think it has a lot of potential. It's not something I took with my camera, so this is an image that I want to do the best job possible with Snapseed. So I'm gonna take my time and go through the necessary steps. The first thing that I wanna do is get this converted to black and white. To me this really needs it. Especially in a sense that the house, the house is far too yellow in the original frame. And so I'm gonna go into Adjust. And then we're gonna reduce the brightness. And just by doing that the image starts to really come to life. Just loving that contrast in the sky. And all I did was reduce brightness. Now I'll add a little bit of contrast, not too much. And we're looking pretty good in there. Now let's try the Color Filter. I think the Red filter gave us a really interesting house, almost a little too bright. I'm gonna stick with Neutral for now and hit the check mark. All right, so we're gonna go back into Tools and we're gonna go to Tune Image. And I'm gonna go to Ambience, add that, back and forth. It's gonna brighten up the bottom of the frame a little bit, add a little bit more, a little more balance. It reduced the contrast a bit, but in a good way, so I like that quite a bit, so I'm gonna hit the check mark. I'm gonna come in here to Details and I'm gonna add some Structure. We gotta be careful, a little bit of restraint, don't wanna push it too much. Looking good, check mark. And let's try a Vignette focused on the house itself, that's kind of my main subject. Remember I can pinch to bring the vignette tighter or further away. And if I move it to the right I brighten up the outer brightness and I move it to the left. So I'm almost always gonna move it to the left. And again, restraint, everything I do I wanna do subtly. And hit X, okay. And it's starting to come together. If I force touch, that's the original, new image edited. So you can see how yellow that house is, it's really bothering me. And just to convert to black and white it becomes about structure, the shape of the clouds, the contrast, it's just a much more pleasing type of image. Now from here what I love to do is Share, Save a copy, and I'll come back to this, I'll try it again. You know, a lot of us, we find ourselves in line at the store, we pull out our phone and we're doing this or that, but why not be creative? Why not open up Snapseed and pull on that image of the storm over the house, start again, try another version. I mean, it's just so fantastic, because you get the chance to be creative, to work on your art, and to improve your Snapseed skills. So having Snapseed in your pocket, I could not think of a better editing tool than that.
