Not only can you apply effects globally to an image, you can also make more isolated adjustments. Like Adobe Photoshop, Macphun’s Tonality allows you to make specific adjustments to an image with layers. In this movie, author Richard Harrington demonstrates how to apply effects to specific parts of an image with Macphun’s Tonality.
- Let's explore combining multiple adjustments…within a single image.…First off, I'll save the last image I was working on…by choosing File, Save.…This is going to store it as an .mpt file,…MacPhun tonality.…Clicking continue, I can save that in the same location.…Now, let's open up another image.…I'll choose Cactus from the same folder…and click open.…You can choose any of the presets…that you were working with.…
To start, let's go with some outdoor ones here,…and we'll choose one here called Deep Sky.…That looks pretty good.…Let's try Detailed Landscape.…I like that,…but I'd like to adjust this a bit so that it blends.…On top of this, I'm going to add an additional layer.…Under the Layers command here, I can click the plus button…to add that layer.…In this case, I want to do a simple adjustment…to really bring things out.…
Let's choose Sleepy Forest.…I like how that brought out detail in the background,…but I don't want to apply that effect to the foreground.…Using the Erase tool here, I can simply erase away…parts of this image.…
