Tonality is created to bring out some of the older details of an image. These effects are complemented well by the use of texture and frames. How do you add texture and a frame to an image in Tonality? In this movie, author Richard Harrington will walk you through how to add a texture and a frame to your image in Tonality.
- Because Tonality is meant to bring out…some of the older details in an image,…the use of borders and textures…are often great ways to do that.…Let's add another layer here…and on this one we'll call it texture.…A texture though can be added to any effect.…If you scroll down, you'll find the option to load textures.…There it is.…And if I click, I can select from existing textures.…You'll find paper, metal, and film.…
You can also load your own custom textures.…One of my favorite websites to get textures…is a website called textureking.com.…You'll find several free textures there…that you can download and use for personal use.…Let's go ahead here and choose…one of these film stock overlays.…And you might notice when you first apply it,…it doesn't seem to work.…Well that's because you need to dial it in.…Using the amount slider, you can place it on top…and you see that it can be added…with both positive and negative values.…
You also can change the blending mode.…I often prefer a multiply mode…which creates an interesting effect.…
