Now we're going to start taking a look at the editing commands that we will use from either the toolbar or the keyboard shortcuts. Where these commands live is over here to the right side of the toolbar, we have these three buttons that are the default editing buttons. And if you're coming from Final Cut 7 these may look pretty familiar. We have first our insert button. Our Overwrite button and our Replace button. They look the same as the three editing buttons we have in Final Cut 7. They also have the same keyboard shortcuts because we chose the Final Cut 7 shortcuts when we created our user. Insert is F9, Overwrite is F10, Replace is F11. And this drop down menu next to the replace button also contains some other editing option. For building this rough cut we're going to focus on the insert and overwrite and how they work together. I'm going to build a quick rough cut of this opening scene.
