Trimming in the timeline

Now that we have our clips in the timeline, let's trim the clips to clean up the timing between them. First of all, if you aren't able to see all the tracks in your timeline, once again, you can always make sure your FX ribbon is closed. This FX tab is what opens and closes that area. And again, you can always use your mouse between the viewer and timeline areas to allow you to adjust that space. Make sure you can see these tracks pretty clearly. When I'm ready to trim my timeline, there are two elements to this I need to look at. One is the trimming tools I'm going to use and the other is a view that will help me see the trims more closely. I'm going to deal with the view in the next lesson. Let's look at the tools first. So far as we've been working in the timeline, I have kept my cursor in Select mode. In other words, right now my mouse represents the Select tool. If I click on a clip, I can select it. But if I move my mouse near the edit points, I don't see any options for…
