Exploring the ConnectFX interface
In this next part of the course, we're going to begin to explore a very important area inside of Smoke called Connect Effects. So far, all of the effects we've applied have been directly to clips in the timeline. Connect Effects has a different approach called node based effects. You'll see, as we begin to explore this interface, how much power it gives you in creating very layered and interesting effects. We'll begin by expanding our color correction into Connect Effects. In later lessons we'll explore many other areas of Connect Effects as well. I'm going to begin by creating a new sequence, I'm going to right click on my sequences clip library and choose New Sequence, and you can always use that shortcut, Command-N. I'm going to quickly doublecheck that my defaults are all still the same, 1920 by 1080 10-bit, 23.976 frames per second, I'm in good shape there, and I'm going to call this CFX for color correction in Connect Effects and I'm going to create the sequence.
