Editing in the timeline
In this lesson, we're going to take some of the media we imported and viewed in the previous lessons and edit it into the timeline. For this quick overview we're just going to use the sequence that was created when we created the project. In a later lesson on editing I'll give you more details about creating the sequence and understanding its settings. For now, we're just going to take a look at some quick editing tips and give ourselves some clips in the timeline to add some effects to in the next lessons. I'm going to start with this clip called Opening Scene Master. If you worked in any editing application before the way that Smoke edits will feel familiar to you. So much of it is the standard we use in all editing applications. In other words, I open a clip into my source monitor. I mark ins and outs to select the part of the clip that I want. I edit it into the timeline. We'll get into even more detail on the viewing and selecting of the clip in a later lesson. But for now, let's…
