- I encourage every author to have a website and/or a blog, which we'll discuss soon. Even a static website that has a little about you, a little about your book, that's going to be and wise thing for anybody interested in learning more or connecting with you. Obviously, links to your book and social media sites should be there and should be easy to find. If you don't want to spend on hiring out for a professional website designer, and I don't blame you, there are many places where you can easily make free websites and blogs, like Yola, Webs, WordPress, and Blogger to name a few. Here's an example of a free website at Yola. If you make a free website, or even a paid one, it's great to have social media links so people can connect with you, but also icons to retailers so people can buy your book at their preferred retailer.
