- [Instructor] We've been working with the default preferences in Slack, but I'm going to show you how you can modify your preferences. Slack preferences are specific to you and specific to the Slack workspace you're working in. If you happen to be a member of more than one workspace, then you can set different preferences in each of the workspaces. Click your workspace name at the top and choose preferences. Preferences are grouped by notification, sidebar, themes, messages and media, language and region accessibility, mark as read, audio and video, and advanced. And in this movie, we're going to talk about our notification preferences. The first choice you have is to enable desktop notifications. And when you first work in a workspace, there's actually a banner that appears across the bottom that says, "Slack needs you to enable desktop notifications."
