Create a message in a channel
- [Instructor] Slack gives us three distinctly different communication mechanisms, and it's useful to know when you might want to use each. Our first choice is to post or drop a message in a channel, either in a public channel or a private channel. Remember that anything posted in a public channel can be searched for and viewed by anyone in your workspace. While the only folks who can search or view the contents of a private channel are the invited members of that channel. Our next choice is direct messaging, which works exactly as it does in, for example, iOS chat or on Facebook Messenger. Direct messages are for one-to-one or for small group conversations, you and your recipient or recipients. Slack tells us that the only folks who can search and view direct messages, whether it's one-to-one or a group, are there people that are included in that direct message.
