Rectangle tool - Sketchup Pro Tutorial
From the course: SketchUp 2020 Essential Training
Rectangle tool
- [Instructor] To use the rectangle tool, select the rectangle icon from the toolbar, or you can use the keyboard shortcut letter R. You'll notice your cursor change to a pencil with a rectangle next to it. The rectangle tool works much like the line tool. Click and release to choose a starting point, and then click and release to choose an ending point. If you'd like to create a measured rectangle, you can click and release to choose a starting point, move your cursor in the direction that you'd like the rectangle to orient towards, and then type in your dimensions. If I'd like a rectangle that is 10 feet by 20 feet, I can type 10 feet, comma, 20 feet, Enter. If you realize that you've typed it incorrectly, you can simply override that. For example, if I realize I wanted it to be oriented the other way, I can type 20 feet, comma, 10 feet instead. There's never a need to click in the measurements box in the bottom…
