Extrude walls

- [Narrator] Before we pull our walls up, we're going to do a few things. The first thing is we're going to turn off X-ray mode. Because we no longer need to see through the geometry to reference the image below. So I'm going to go to View, Face Style, and then turn off X-ray. Next up, we're going to orbit a bit. Because it's a little bit more difficult to pull things directly towards your camera when you're in top view. It's a lot easier if we orbit and pull it up from this angle. And lastly, before we pull the walls up, we're going to reverse all of the faces. And the reason for this is sometimes that when we're pulling walls up, the faces come up blue. And they should actually come up white. The blue should be facing inside of the wall thickness, and the white should be on the outside. So that happens sometimes with floor plans. And the way to remedy this is to triple-click, with our select tool, so space bar, triple-click, one, two, three, right-click, Reverse Faces. And now when we use our push-pull tool, they should come up white. So I'm going to activate the push-pull tool by tapping the letter P, push-pull. Click and release on the face you'd like to pull up, and type eight feet, enter. For an eight-foot tall wall. If you accidentally click and release on the floor, and begin to bring it up, to let go of that, you can simply hit the escape key. You don't want to click and release, and then try and eyeball it to set it down. It's much better to hit escape. Now, to continue to pull up the other parts of the wall, I can click and release on each face. And then hover over an adjacent edge. Click and release. There's no need to continue to type eight feet. I can also double-click on the faces to pull them up to the previous measurement, which is eight feet. Just be sure that if it does send it below the face, sometimes they go eight feet down. That you undo that, pull it up again, retype eight feet, and continue on. Now that we have all of our walls pulled to eight feet, we can add in doorway headers and windowsills.
