- [Narrator] This week I'm going to explore axes. Axes are what we see here, the red, green, and blue axes, and the axes allow you to draw things parallel to them. For example, if I draw a line, it will highlight in green, or red, or blue, depending on which way I move the cursor. This is something that's just so obvious and intuitive in SketchUp. Not that many users are aware that they can reorient the axes to suit different situations. For example, I've opened up this kitchen model, which comes from my SketchUp Pro Kitchen Design course. In that course, we design a kitchen island here, that goes in this area. The kitchen island is on an angle, and it doesn't line up. It's not parallel to either bank of cabinets. Instead, it's angle is determined by the geometry of the kitchen. So we can determine that by drawing in a guide using the tape measure from the corner over here on the pantry, over to the kick underneath the cabinet there.
