V-Ray light types: Dome
- [Instructor] Having already taken a look at the default sunlight tools in V-Ray for SketchUp Version 3, we're going to take a look here at yet another daylight-type option, this being V-Ray's dome light. To create a dome light, all we need do is follow some by now familiar creation steps in that we can come to the V-Ray Lights toolbar, click on the Dome Light button and then left click once in the view port and with that our dome light is created. To see how this works, let's take an initial render of what we have. Now, straightaway we can note a few interesting things going on here. First of all, we see that the dome light doesn't need to have any GI systems turned on in order to create an all-around lighting effect. In fact, if we open up the Asset Editor and take a look in the Settings tab, we can see that global illumination is still turned off. What we are seeing in the render then is the result of a hemispherical dome of direct light now being cast into the scene. We can also…
