- Hi, Scott Onstott here. This week I'm going to discuss adding urban context to your building models in SketchUp. There's a great resource called CADMapper.com and, as it says, you can get instant CAD files for any location on Earth. All you need to do is create a free account and sign in, which I've just done, and type in your site address. I'm going to say my site is 505 Sansone, which is right next to the Transamerica Pyramid, and what you can do is zoom in or out of the map, and as you change the size here, what's happening is you are configuring a file down here. You see, this is 1.65 kilometers, and this would cost six US dollars? So the larger the map, the more money it costs. If you make it smaller than a kilometer or exactly one kilometer, then that will be free, so that is the size I'm going to use for this demonstration. You can select different formats over here, I'm going to use SketchUp 2015 Plus, and then select 3D buildings if available. You can even get topography if…
