The Scale tool is often used to configure dynamic components. See how certain directions can be allowed or disallowed within the component attribute's ScaleTool behavior.
- [Instructor] Some dynamic components…are configurable using the Scale Tool.…For example, there's a bench here that says…This wooden bench can be resized using the Scale Tool.…I'll drag and drop that into my scene.…Then I'll use the Scale Tool.…Observe that there are just two different groups here,…and I'll grab one of them and move it over.…When I complete that operation, the individual elements…within that component are re-calculated.…When I first start dragging that,…it looks like it's being distorted,…like the arm rest is very narrow.…
But when I complete the Scale operation by clicking,…all the sub-elements are recalculated…based on the formulas inside that dynamic component.…Note that we can only scale it in this direction,…we can't scale it vertically or in the green direction,…because those functions were disabled…in the dynamic component.…So for example, here if I right-click…and go into Dynamic Component Attributes,…you can see right here, there's a behavior on this…called Scale Tool, and it says…Some scale handles hidden.…
