John Romeo reviews the types of lights available in SU Podium. He draws a lighting grid object to make it easy to place lights on the set. He adds three spotlights to focus the lights, and places an Omni light in the floor lamp—it works just like a light bulb. The light level is adjusted using test renders to see how it looks.
- [Instructor] In this chapter, we will create a rendering,…using the SU Podium plugin,…and in the next chapter,…we will create a rendering with V-Ray.…But first, we need to light the set.…So to get started, we click on the light bulb,…which opens up the Podium lighting panel.…And you can see two different types of lights.…The spotlight is like a typical theatrical light,…like a Leko, or a fresnel,…and the Omni light is more of a light bulb.…
And if we look on the lighting grid here that I've created,…the lighting grid just makes it really easy…to place lights on the set,…and it was very simple to create.…And these are spotlights, and they're focused on the set.…And what's really nice about SU Podium,…it makes it really easy to focus lights.…So if I click Create a light,…and you click on a point,…and then drag to another point,…and then it gives you a focus line.…
Let's say I want to focus right on the back of that chair.…And I click on that point,…and now that light is focused…right on the back of that chair very, very simply.…
