- [Instructor] Now before we actually get started modeling our concept, I do wanna talk a little bit about staying organized. Now, no matter what software you use, it makes a lot of sense to organize your scenes as you go, and I cannot stress this enough, because particularly, in the concept phase, you are going to be undoing and going back and turning things on and turning things off and you wanna make sure that you know where everything is, that it's named properly, and so on. So I'm going to take a look at the final version of the project that we're going to do and I'm just gonna talk a little bit about how I organize my scenes. Now, this may not be perfect for you and your studio but at least it'll give you some ideas as to how to stay organized. So first thing I wanted you to look at is the outliner, and notice how everything has a descriptive name and that's probably the most important thing is you wanna make sure that naming schemes are consistent. One of the things I like to do is to name the type of object first. So if I'm working with roofs, this particular structure has three roofs. So I have a roof over the main structure, I have a roof over the bedrooms, and then I also have a roof over the office. Now what I've done is I've put the word roof first and that way it self-organizes when you sort alphabetically, and that can make it much easier if you're working with the roofs, to have them all in one place. Now I've done the same for things such as windows and doors and so on. Now, in addition, I do like to layer things. So, as you notice, there's a lot of different layers in this and makes it very easy to work with the project. So if I wanted to pop the roof, all I have to do is turn off that layer and I can now look inside of my structure. We also wanna stay organized in our components, as well as our materials. So when you bring components into the scene, again, name them descriptively, these are basically almost the same as the groups and naming schemes that you will use the outliner, so again, name your components. And of course, materials. If we go into the materials in the model, you wanna make sure that all of your materials have descriptive names, and again, that makes it much easier to sort through them and find the ones that you need. So with that in mind, let's go ahead and start building our concept.
