Group faces and edges as objects

- [Instructor] At this point, all of the model is in the same modeling context, as they say. This means that SketchUp just understands all of this information as a series of faces and edges. We may know that this is a door but SketchUp does not. And SketchUp has no way of manipulating this object separately from the rest of the model. It's necessary to group objects that you think of as being different. This way, you'll have more control over them, namely, you'll be able to hide them or unhide them, or control their visibility using layers. In order to build this intelligence into the model, we simply have to select the different items and then group them. So for example, let's say I wanna select this door. If I orbit around here and try to select that door, you'll see that it's actually kind of tricky because we're also getting the outlet on the wall, which I don't want. So here's a tip for making precise selections. Go up to the camera menu and choose parallel projection. And then…
