Get terrain data from Google Maps

- [Instructor] Hi, I'm George Maestri, and today we're going to take a look at how to get location and elevation data from Google Earth into SketchUp. Now, there are many times when you're creating a building, and you'll need to place that building on a site. And Google Earth is a great way to get rough site data for your projects. So, we start off by using location data. So we can do this by going into File, Geo-location, Add Location. And when we do this, it brings us into a Google Maps or Google Earth-type interface. And I live in Los Angeles, so it's easy giving me Los Angeles. And it'll probably give you something closer to your hometown. But, as you can see, we can pan by left-clicking and dragging, or if we roll the mouse, we can zoom out. And we can pretty much go anywhere we want. Now, I'm actually going to go into Los Angeles and go to Malibu. Basically, we're just going to look for an empty lot. Now, I already know where I'm looking here. So I'm going to go over here right…
